The 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Saint Paul instructs us to present our needs to God in petitions full of gratitude.


1. For the Church: that we may be a fruitful garden, producing a harvest rich in compassion, mercy, justice and forgiveness

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all religious leaders: that they may faithfully imitate the Good Shepherd and guide closer to God all who are entrusted to their care.
We pray to the Lord

3. For a greater respect for human life, particularly for the unborn: that God will open all hearts to the beauty of this precious gift.
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are struggling financially: that God will calm their fears and guide them to new opportunities to peace and stability
We pray to the Lord

5. In the spirit of St. Francis: that we may be ever better stewards of all the gifts of God's creations.
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      We are God's children through baptism; therefore we ask confidently for our needs and those of others.


1. For the Church: that we may more and more put on the attitude of Christ and empty ourselves for the service of others

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For church leaders in the Middle East: that they may faithfully follow Jesus and guide Christians in being instruments of God's love, mercy and compassion
We pray to the Lord

3. For all relief workers and members of the military: that God will guide their service and bring them home safely to their families
We pray to the Lord

4. For all grandparents: that they may offer support, love and vision to their children and grandchildren
We pray to the Lord

5. For the sucess of the Synod on Families to be held in October at the Vatican.
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
PRESIDER      God's ways are high above ours, yet our prayers are always heard.


1. For the Church: that we may experience salvation as God's gift, accept it humbly and share it generously with others

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For Congress and members of the Administration: that God will guide them in setting policies that promote life, protect individual's consciences, and advance the common good
We pray to the Lord

3. For peace throughout the world: that God will inspire and guide all who are working to end violence and warfare so that all may live in peace and safety
We pray to the Lord

4. For our catechists, religious educators and parents of our parish: that they may be blessed in their new year of faith formation for their dedication in helping our children grow in their faith
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may appreciate the gifts and blessings that others receive and rejoice in their success
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER     Generous God, you are near to all who call on you. Hear our prayers and grant what the Spirit bids us. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen


September 13/14
The Exaltation of the Holy Cross
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      From the cross, Christ Jesus forgave the repentant thief. We bring our petitions to him, trusting that we too will find mercy.


1. For the Church: that we may enter into the Paschal Mystery and surrender ourselves to God who abides with us through all trials and raises us to new life

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all world leaders: that they may follow the example of Christ and become servants to all the voiceless and marginalized of society
We pray to the Lord

3. For all Christians in Syria, Iraq and Nigeria: that the cross of Christ will bring them strength and that they may have courage to witness to the Gospel
We pray to the Lord

4. For all families: as they gather to share a meal on Family Day, that they thank God for the gift of one another and family life.
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that the lifting up of Christ may open our hearts to experience God's great love and lead all to a deeper relationship with Christ
We pray to the Lord
