The Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Like Martha's sister Mary, we come before God with humble hearts.


1. For the Church: that we may have the courage to risk everything as we seek the reign of God.

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all who are working for peace: that God will inspire them in their negotiations and help them to find ways to overcome suspicion and mistrust
We pray to the Lord

3. For the victims and families of the recent airline tragedies: may they find comfort and peace in the Divine Savior.
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who have been impacted by drought, floods, or wildfires: that God will send water to those who need it, bring dryness to those with too much water, and help all to rebuild their lives
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may surrender our old ways, and receive the new beginnings that God offers us
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

July 19/20
The Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
PRESIDER      We who have received God's mercy humbly ask for the needs of the Church and the world.


1. For the Church: that we allow the transforming power of God to work in our minds and hearts and bring forth a harvest of justice and mercy

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our Holy Father, bishops and all Church leaders: that they may announce God's loving compassion faithfully and convincingly so that others may encounter the living God
We pray to the Lord

3. For all government leaders: that God will inspire them in developing just immigration policies for those who seek to find a new home
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are traveling: that they may travel safely, have good visits, and find rest and renewal in their time away
We pray to the Lord

5. For all that are here today: that we may be a leaven of compassion and hospitality in our society for all who turn to us
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

July 12/13
The Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Our burdens are made light by our trust in God, who hears our prayers


1. For the Church: that we may spread the hope, joy and vitality of the Good News with great generosity so that all may experience the compassionate mercy of God

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER 2. For our Holy Father, bishops and all Church leaders: that they may announce God's loving compassion faithfully and convincingly so that others may encounter the living God
We pray to the Lord

3. For peace: that God's word may bring an end to violence, particularly in Syria, Iraq, and Ukraine, and bring forth a new day of healing and reconciliation
We pray to the Lord

4. For refugees and immigrants, particularly children: that they may be welcomed as brother and sister in the Lord and offered love and respect
We pray to the Lord

5. For all that are here today: that we may offer others the joy of coming to know God's love through sharing the story of our journey with God
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      With humble hearts, we come before God to speak for our needs and those of the world.


1. For the Church: that we will help others come to God and learn of the love, compassion, and forgiveness that Jesus offers

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our nation and its leaders: to safeguard our freedoms and enact laws that respect the dignity of all people.
We pray to the Lord

3. For peace in the Middle East: that the angers and jealousies that fill human hearts may be transformed by God and that the attraction to violence may be defused in human hearts
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are caught in addictions: that God will bring healing, hope and the opportunity for a new beginning into their lives
We pray to the Lord

5. For spiritual directors and all who teach others to pray: that they may enter into deeper unity with God and help others to experience God's loving presence
We pray to the Lord
