Second Sunday of Lent
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Abraham entrusted Isaac to God's care, so do we place our concerns before God.


1. For the Church: that our truest selves, beloved daughters and sons of God, may be revealed more and more through our Lenten observances

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all who lead the Church: that they may be transformed by the vision of Christ and help all of us to deepen our faith and grow in love
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who are caught in violence: that God will bring an end to violence and relief to all who are suffering
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are preparing for sacraments in the coming months: that God will deepen their faith, their oneness with the community, and their call to mission
We pray to the Lord

5. For all who gathered here today: that as we entrust ourselves to God more deeply this Lent, we may come to see the face of God more clearly
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER     Merciful God, you spared Isaac but not your only Son. Spare us, O God; hear our prayers and grant them in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen.


February 21/22
First Sunday of Lent
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      With absolute faith in his Father, Jesus overcame temptation. With the same confidence, we lift up our own prayers.


1. For the Church: that we may be led by the Spirit to a fuller living of the Gospel and greater freedom of mind and heart

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For peace: that God will strengthen the resolve of those working for peace in Ukraine, Iraq, Palestine and Israel, and guide them along new paths of dialogue toward understanding
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who are called to the Easter Sacraments: that they may continue to open their hearts to God and be drawn ever closer to Christ
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are unemployed: that God will lead them to new opportunities to use their gifts and talents for the good of others
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish community: that God will guide us to quiet places where we can listen to God's words and respond with sincerity
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER     Faithful God, you never abandon those who need you. Help us to recognize your love in our daily lives and follow your holy path in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ASH WEDNESDAY
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      God knows what is in our hearts and listens to every prayer. We bring ourselves closer to him with trust of a friend.


1. For our holy father Pope Francis and all the leaders of the Church,

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2 For Peace: that the Spirit will lead and inspire all who are working for peace and help them to find new ways to overcome obstacles and misunderstandings
We pray to the Lord

3 For those preparing for the Easter sacraments, that they may grow in their knowledge of God's love for them.
We pray to the Lord

4 For a spirit of service during this Lenten season: that we may help others and be instruments of God's love and compassion.
We pray to the Lord

5 For the members of this community, let the signing with ashes today remind us of the passing nature of material things and help us give more attention to the things of the spirit,
We pray to the Lord

6 For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for   Helen and Joseph Zaremba.
Whom we remember in a special way at this Mass,

We pray to the Lord

7 For the intentions of the people of St. Bartholomew,
We pray to the Lord

8 For the special intentions mentioned in our petition book, on our prayer line, and for petitions that anyone wishes to voice at this time. (Pause)
We pray to the Lord

9 Let us add any additional intentions in the silence of our hearts. (Pause for 5 seconds)

PRESIDER     Marked with the ashes of repentance, we turn to you, God of mercy. Look into our contrite hearts and grant what we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen.


February 14/15
Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      To the God of mercy, who gives us wholeness in Jesus Christ, we bring our petitions.


1. For the Church: that we may be signs of God's compassionate care for all who are marginalized or whose dignity is devalued

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For the members of Congress: that God will give them wisdom and insight as they prepare budgets and priorities for the coming year
We pray to the Lord

3. For peace: that God will inspire world leaders to take bold steps to end violence and promote justice through dialogue and understanding
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who suffer from the cold: that they may find warmth, shelter, and assistance
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish community: that we may be attentive to the invitations of God to grow and change during the Lenten season
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for
