Petitions and Prayers of the Faithful

April 19/20
Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      By raising Jesus, God changed sin and death to grace and life. Confidently we raise our prayers to the Holy One.

Please respond: "Risen Christ, Hear our Prayer"

1. For the Church: that we will continue to be instruments of Christ's light for all who have lived in darkness, of hope for all who know pain and suffering, and of love for all who have been rejected

We pray

RISEN CHRIST, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For peace throughout the world: that the Risen Lord will inspire all leaders to try new ways to work for peace.
We pray

3. For all the newly initiated: that they may faithfully follow Jesus and keep the light of Christ burning in their lives.
We pray

4. For all who are away from home this Easter, particularly missionaries and members of the military: that God will protect them, guide them in their service and bring them home safely.
We pray

5. For those gathered here today: that renewed through word and sacrament, we may be strong in faith, confident in hope, and abounding with love for God and neighbor
We pray

6. FOR ALL PARISHIONERS LIVING AND DECEASED AND FOR THE INTENTIONS OF THE EASTER FLOWER DONORS.
We pray

7. For the special intentions mentioned in our petition book, on our prayer line, and for petitions that anyone wishes to voice at this time. (Pause)
We pray

8. Let us add any additional intentions in the silence of our hearts. (Pause for 5 seconds)
We pray

PRESIDER     God of glory and power, we thank you for the resurrection of your Son. Hear the concerns we offer you through the same Christ our Lord.
