PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER    The Holy Spirit bids us to speak with confidence to God, who always responds with love.

1. For the Church: that we may be transformed and renewed through the Spirit's presence in our hearts.

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For members of legislatures: that the Spirit will guide them in their deliberations and policy setting.
We pray to the Lord

3. For all of us here: that we may be careful with the resources God has given us and use them wisely.
We pray to the Lord

4. For a Spirit of hope: that all who are overwhelmed by life may find new reasons to live each day.
We pray to the Lord

5. For a Spirit of love: that we may place our time, energy, and gifts at the service of others.
We pray to the Lord

PRESIDER We place our concerns in the hands of God, as Jesus taught us.

1. For the Church: that we may continually grow in our knowledge and love of God .

We pray

Risen Christ, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all Mothers and those who have been like a mother to us: that God will bless and strengthen them and inspire us to great love by their witness of their love and concern.
We pray

3. For our young parishioners who received their First Communion this weekend: that they may always be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and be witnesses of Christ's love.
We pray

4. For our catechists, religious educators and parents of our parish: that they may be blessed for their dedication in sharing the Catholic faith with the children, teens, and adults of our faith formation programs.
We pray

5. For all who are ill: that God will heal bodies, minds, and spirits so that all may live and celebrate God's gift of life.
We pray

6. For each of us here: that in this month dedicated to the mother of God, we may turn to Mary as an intercessor for our needs.
We pray

7. For all deceased mothers and all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER      Let us prayerfully offer our petitions to God who has sent us his Son.

1. For the Church: that we may fulfill the commission given by Jesus to proclaim the Good News of God's forgiveness to all the world,

2. That neither old hatreds nor new resentments prevent nations from seeking peace that lasts,
We pray

3. For those who have celebrated the sacraments of initiation during this Easter season: together may we grow in the Holy Spirit's gift of grace,

4. For those who care for the very old and the very ill, be blessed with cheerful hearts and gentle hands.
We pray

5. For all gathered here: that we, who have been renewed by our celebrations of the paschal mystery, may place our talents and energies in the service of Christ's reign,
We pray

PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER     As sisters and brothers of the risen Lord, we come to our Father with our concerns.

1. For the Church: that we may always be attentive to the creative work of the Spirit and open to new ways to bring Good News to people without unnecessary burdens.

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For an end to terrorism and violence throughout the world and for a speedy return home of all the members of the military.
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who labor: to have safe working conditions and just wages.
We pray to the Lord

4. For all our young parishioners who are preparing for First Communion: that their love of the Lord may grow in abundance.
We pray to the Lord

5. For all who are being ordained this spring: that God will strengthen and inspire them to serve the Body of Christ selflessly and faithfully.
We pray to the Lord

6. For all college students as they approach final exams: that they may recall all that they have learned and use their knowledge for the good of the whole human family.
We pray to the Lord

7. For a greater appreciation of our parish community: that we may find support and encouragement within our St. Bart's family.
We pray to the Lord
