7th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER     Believing that God will carry our all his promises, we lift up our prayers .

1. For the Church: that we may be faithful friends and bring others to Christ
We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2 That the rich nations forgive the crushing debt of poor countries and help them make prudent economic decisions,
We pray to the Lord

3 For all catechumens who are preparing for the Rite of Election: that they may be open to God's call to enter more fully into the Paschal Mystery,
We pray to the Lord

4 For the return of families praying together again,
We pray to the Lord

5 For couples struggling with infertility; that the Lord will bless them with children, whether by natural means or adoption,
We pray to the Lord

6 For all who are homebound: that this community may reach out to them, sustain them with love and prayer, and help them with their needs,
We pray to the Lord

7 For Ronald Heim and all our relatives and friends who have died, especially,

PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER     To the God of mercy, who gives us wholeness in Jesus Christ.


1. For all who lead the Church, that they find new strength in fervent prayer and cheerful service,
We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For the leaders in our government, that God will help them recognize the importance of freedom of conscience of faith communities and respect those sincerely following their conscience,
We pray to the Lord

3. For an increase in vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life,
We pray to the Lord

4. For abused and neglected children, that their circumstances will be known, their safety assured, and their sense of self-worth restored,
We pray to the Lord

5. For the youth and leaders on Winter Retreat this weekend, may they come to know Christ through each other,
We pray to the Lord

6. For us who eat and drink with the Lord at this Eucharist, may we do all for the glory of God and benefit of our neighbor,
We pray to the Lord

7. For Barbara Possum and all our relatives and friends who have died, especially,

PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER     Let us join together in prayer to the God of compassion, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.


1. For our Church, that the language of our prayers become the language of our hearts,
We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For world leaders, that by making themselves servants to the people they govern, they may promote the human dignity that is rightfully due to all,
We pray to the Lord

3. For returning members of the military, that God will guide them through the transition to civilian life, heal their painful memories, and help them find employment,
We pray to the Lord

4. For nurses and caregivers to family members, that the Lord will increase their patience, gentleness, and strength to continue witnessing to the dignity of each person in their care,
We pray to the Lord

5. For those burdened like Job by anxious days and sleepless nights, that they may know God's comfort in their trials and the Spirit's guidance for their future,
We pray to the Lord

6. For the members of this faith community, that we always be open to the liberating message of the Gospel,
We pray to the Lord

7. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially,

PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER     Our faithful God hears the cry of the poor. With confidence let us present our prayers.

1. For our Church, that through our words and deeds of loving service, we may confront evil in all its forms and faithfully announce the reign of our God,
We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For members of Congress and legislatures, that they will hear the needs of the powerless and marginalized as legislation and priorities are developed,
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who are struggling financially, that God will give them courage and peace as they await new opportunities to use their gifts,
We pray to the Lord

4. For those who have committed sins against the sanctity of human life, especially those near death: that they may be reconciled with God,
We pray to the Lord

5. For Father Marcin, as he begins his new assignment, give him a deep faith, a bright and firm hope and a burning love which will ever increase in the course of his priestly life,
We pray to the Lord

6. For this faith community, that we answer Christ's call to serve the poor,
We pray to the Lord

7. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially,

PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER     In the name of Jesus, let us pray to God, whose compassion and love are from of old, and who remembers us in kindness.


1. For the Church, that we may faithfully announce the Good News by our lives and draw others to Christ through our deeds of love and compassionate words,
We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our federal and state leaders in the legislative, judicial, and executive branches of government: that they will enact, uphold, and enforce laws to defend and promote the right to life of all human beings, especially those not yet born,
We pray to the Lord

3. For those whom Jesus is calling to come follow him in the vocation of the priesthood or religious life, may they respond eagerly and generously as followers of Christ and fishers of people,
We pray to the Lord

4. For those serving in our armed forces and their families and loved ones, may those in harm's way be shielded from danger, and those waiting at home be strengthened by our grateful support,
We pray to the Lord

5. For the members of this community, that we hold one another in daily prayer and bring God's love to the sick and homebound,
We pray to the Lord
