The Exaltation of the Holy Cross
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      From the cross, Christ Jesus forgave the repentant thief. We bring our petitions to him, trusting that we too will find mercy.


1. For the Church: that we may enter into the Paschal Mystery and surrender ourselves to God who abides with us through all trials and raises us to new life

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all world leaders: that they may follow the example of Christ and become servants to all the voiceless and marginalized of society
We pray to the Lord

3. For all Christians in Syria, Iraq and Nigeria: that the cross of Christ will bring them strength and that they may have courage to witness to the Gospel
We pray to the Lord

4. For all families: as they gather to share a meal on Family Day, that they thank God for the gift of one another and family life.
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that the lifting up of Christ may open our hearts to experience God's great love and lead all to a deeper relationship with Christ
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Confident of God's faithful love, we speak the prayers of our hearts.


1. For the Church: that we may be reconcilers and peacemakers through our words and offer compassionate care to all who are alienated or wounded

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all world leaders : may they courageously work to end violence and implement steps to establish just and life-giving societies
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who have fled warfare and violence, particularly the people of Syria, Iraq and South Sudan: that God will guide and sustain them on their journey and open the hearts of many to assist them
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are ill: that God will comfort them, strengthen them, and raise them up
We pray to the Lord

5. For all who are gathered here today: that the Spirit will open our minds and hearts to listen to the word of God spoken deep within our hearts
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Enlightened by the Spirit of wisdom, we present our petitions to our loving God.


1. For the Church: that the fire of the Holy Spirit will embolden us in giving witness to God and in serving others by following the example of Jesus

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For Pope Francis, Archbishop Blair and all Church leaders: that they might always model a humble and loving response to the call from God to minister to his people.
We pray to the Lord

3. For Peace: that the world leaders in the Middle East and Africa may courageously work to end violence and implement steps to establish just and life-giving societies
We pray to the Lord

4. For the earthquake victims in Napa California: that God will help them find safety and give them strength to renew their lives
We pray to the Lord

5. For all who are gathered here today: that through our participation in the Eucharistic liturgy, we may be united in Christ.
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Relying on God's unfailing promise, we pray for the Church and the world.


1. For the Church: that we may boldly profess Jesus as Lord and help others to come to know him

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our Holy Father, bishops and all Church leaders: that they may share the Good News in ways that enable people to connect to God and the Church
We pray to the Lord

3. For Peace in cities and neighborhoods, especially in St. Louis: that God will guide leaders to address unresolved issues in communities and open pathways leading to reconciliation
We pray to the Lord

4. For Student and teachers: that they may learn together and grow in wisdom and love
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may rely upon God's vision to guide us
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for
