The Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Enlightened by the Spirit of wisdom, we present our petitions to our loving God.


1. For the Church: that the fire of the Holy Spirit will embolden us in giving witness to God and in serving others by following the example of Jesus

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For Pope Francis, Archbishop Blair and all Church leaders: that they might always model a humble and loving response to the call from God to minister to his people.
We pray to the Lord

3. For Peace: that the world leaders in the Middle East and Africa may courageously work to end violence and implement steps to establish just and life-giving societies
We pray to the Lord

4. For the earthquake victims in Napa California: that God will help them find safety and give them strength to renew their lives
We pray to the Lord

5. For all who are gathered here today: that through our participation in the Eucharistic liturgy, we may be united in Christ.
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER     God of all joys, your Son gave his life for our sake. Make us long for your mercy more than for earthly life and grant what we ask through Chirst our Lord. Amen


August 23/24
The Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Relying on God's unfailing promise, we pray for the Church and the world.


1. For the Church: that we may boldly profess Jesus as Lord and help others to come to know him

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our Holy Father, bishops and all Church leaders: that they may share the Good News in ways that enable people to connect to God and the Church
We pray to the Lord

3. For Peace in cities and neighborhoods, especially in St. Louis: that God will guide leaders to address unresolved issues in communities and open pathways leading to reconciliation
We pray to the Lord

4. For Student and teachers: that they may learn together and grow in wisdom and love
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may rely upon God's vision to guide us
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      We bring our prayers to God who extends mercy to all people.


1. For the Church: that we may truly be a sign of God's presence and a means for all people to come to deeper prayer and authentic worship of God

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For Pope Francis and his pastoral visit to South Korea: that God will give him safe travel, help him awaken a deeper faith and promote a greater unity and charity in the Asian church
We pray to the Lord

3. For peace in Iraq and for religious minorities being persecuted,
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who will begin college soon: that God will help them to make good choices, build new friendships and learn about themselves and the world around them
We pray to the Lord

5. For our faith community: that we welcome all visitors and that our assemblies may be a place where all people can draw closer to God
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The Assumption of the Virgin Mary
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      As children of the Blessed Mother, we bring our needs to God.


1. That the Church: like the Virgin Mary, may bring Christ into the world with joy, and be joined with him in endless life,

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. That legislators and public servants ensure adequate medical care for families, especially those in crisis,
We pray to the Lord

3. That nations unite to combat all forms of violence against women and families.
We pray to the Lord

4. For all mothers, that they may find in Mary the example and strength to carry out their vocation
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may celebrate each day as a gift from God and trust God's love and compassion to guide our way
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially,
