Pentecost Sunday
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Jesus promised that the Spirit would remain with us. Prompted by the Spirit, we pray for our sisters and brothers.


1. For the Church: that we may welcome our sisters and brothers from all corners of the earth and give witness and praise to God with one voice

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all who announce the Good News, especially Bishops, Pastors, Preachers, and Teachers: that they may faithfully and fearlessly announce the Gospel message
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who are ill: that the healing love of the Spirit will touch them, strengthen them and bring them to wholeness
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who have died in service of our nation: that God will give them rest and peace in God's presence forever
We pray to the Lord

5. For all gathered here today: that we may fully use the gifts of the Spirit to encourage one another on our journeys of faith and build up the Body of Christ
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER     God of wisdom and understanding, you gather what was scattered. Hear the prayers of your people united in the Spirit’s love and grant what we ask in the name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Seventh Sunday of Easter
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Because we believe in the love God has for us, we offer our prayers for the Church and the world.


1. For the Church: that we may accept the length, breadth, and depth of God's love for us and share it with others

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all clergy: that they may bear faithful witness to the resurrection and build up the Church through their preaching
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who are recovering from natural disasters: that God will protect them from further harm, give them strength, and help them find the resources that they need
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are graduating this spring: that they will use their gifts and make a difference in the world
We pray to the Lord

5. For all who desire a deeper experience of the Holy Spirit: that God will renew their minds and hearts and fill their spirits with the Spirit of truth and love
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

The Ascension of the Lord
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Paul teaches us that we are to be people of hope. Mindful of this, we seek God's assistance.

1. For the Church: that we may fulfill our calling to be the Body of Christ in the world and continue Christ's mission of bringing hope and healing to all

2. For the gift of peace: that the reign of Christ will inspire all groups in the Mid-East to strive anew to end violence and establish just and peaceful societies

3. For those who have celebrated the sacraments of initiation during this Easter season: together may we grow in the Holy Spirit's gift of grace,

4. For all recovering from the earthquake in Nepal and the tornadoes in the Midwest: that God will protect them from further harm, help them find the resources they need to rebuild their lives, and give them courage

5. For all gathered here: that we may see the hand of God in the created world, in the people and events in our lives, and in the gift of life we live
We pray

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially,

Sixth Sunday of Easter
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      Jesus said, "Whatever you ask the Father in my name will be granted." Therefore, let us place our needs before God.


1. For the Church: that we may fully live as friends of Christ and bear the fruit of the Spirit in our lives

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For peace throughout the world: that God will protect all people from violence and speed the day when all members of the military may return home
We pray to the Lord

3. For all Mothers and for those who have shown us a mother's love: that God will bless them with health, happiness, and peace of heart
We pray to the Lord

4. For our young parishioners who received the Sacrament of First Communion this weekend: that they may always be open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and be witnesses of Christ's love
We pray to the Lord

5. For those gathered here today: that we may rely upon God more fully as our safety and security through all the challenges of life
We pray to the Lord
