The Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      We turn to the God of righteousness and truth with our heartfelt prayer.


1. For the Church: that we may receive the nourishment for life that God gives us in Christ Jesus

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For leaders of cities and local governments: that they may promote understanding and cooperation amongst all the residents of their area
We pray to the Lord

3. For members of the military, for humanitarian aid workers, for missionaries, and for public safety workers: that God will protect them from harm and sustain them in their service
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are experiencing emptiness and confusion: that they may encounter Christ who offers meaning and nourishment for life
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may recognize each day our need for God, experience God's presence with us and be guided by God in each of life's challenges
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

July 25/26
The Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      God cares about our daily needs. Let us raise up our petitions to the Lord with confidence.


1. For the Church: that we may share the Bread of Life with all who hunger for meaning and purpose in life

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our Holy Father, bishops and all Church leaders: that they may share the Good News in ways that enable people to connect to God and the Church
We pray to the Lord

3. For all the children and teachers attending vacation bible camp this week, that they are inspired by God's word.
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are ill: that God's healing spirit will bring wholeness to them in mind, body, and spirit.
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may appreciate the blessings that we have received and generously share our gifts with all who are in need
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER      God of the poor, you give bread to those who are hungry. Grant to those who have bread a deep hunger for justice. This we ask through Christ our Lord. Amen.


July 18/19
The Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      God's loving kindness gives us the confidence to offer our prayers for our sisters and brothers.


1. For the Church: that we may be instruments of compassion and care to all who find life's journey burdensome

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For our Holy Father, bishops and all Church leaders: that they may announce God's loving compassion faithfully and convincingly so that others may encounter the living God
We pray to the Lord

3. For all who serve in ministry: that God will bless their efforts, help them keep their lives in balance, and renew them in mind, body and spirit
We pray to the Lord

4. For Peace in all areas that have conflict: that God may lead all the parties like a shepherd away from violence and into greater appreciation of life and the value of each person
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that God will touch our hearts with care and concern for all whom we find burdensome, needy or demanding
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for

PRESIDER      Gracious God, as a good shepherd you call us to be your people united in love. Help us to conquer our fear and prejudice in order to live in accord with your good news, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.


July 11/12
The Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
PETITIONS AND PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

PRESIDER      God gives us love without condition. Humbly we hold up all our needs in prayer


1. For the Church: that we may each bring forth the reign of God in our lives, our work and our relationships

We pray to the Lord

LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER

2. For all bishops, successors to the Apostles: that God will strengthen and inspire them as they guide the church in fulfilling its mission of proclaiming forgiveness, healing and truth
We pray to the Lord

3. For all political leaders: that God will inspire them to protect our freedoms and liberties, and guide them in promoting policies to help those who are in greatest need
We pray to the Lord

4. For all who are in need of healing: that the Spirit of God will renew and restore the gift of life within them
We pray to the Lord

5. For our parish family: that we may be faithful witnesses to the work of God in one another's lives and honor our commitments to one another
We pray to the Lord

6. For all our relatives and friends who have died, especially for
